Hello.
I've been trying to figure out what to say about myself, and how to say it, for way too long.
My entire life, I guess.
Most likely you're here because you want to learn a little about me, but since I don't know who's reading this, I'm not exactly sure what you want to know. So I'll just throw in a little bit of everything—like when I was a kid and would make a graveyard at the pop machine. I am just now realizing the adult version of that is probably a Long Island iced tea. I'm not into either of those anymore, but here are some things I am into:
I like to write and paint and sit and think. I love to go on walks and space off into the distance. People say I've lived a few lives in this one lifetime. I've had about 50 jobs and spent a decade in advertising. I've written words that were published in magazines, put on billboards, and read by actors. I've had paintings hang in galleries. I have around 21 nieces and nephews, a handful of scars from riding bikes in dangerous places, and some battle wounds from 5 years at Microsoft. I have lived in Oregon, Washington, California, and Hawaii—and I currently reside in Sydney, Australia. I am quite content close to a beach.
I self-published a couple of prompted journals (Observations and Pocket Observations) and I'm currently trying to get a hybrid memoir published. It's about that thing that's in every movie, every song, every poem—the thing everybody wants, the thing that's supposed to save the world or whatever. Love. You know, that thing NO ONE CAN DEFINE. Well, at least when I went looking for a definition, I couldn't find one, and had to come up with my own.
While I wait for agents to get back to me on that, I started a newsletter. Similar to Pocket Observations, I plan to write about things I've heard and questions I like. The goal is to keep it short and not boring—just something fun to think about once a week.
